Sanford, FL: Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) is proud to announce that it has once again been designated as an Academically High-Performing District by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). This prestigious recognition underscores SCPS’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and compliance with state educational standards.
This designation is awarded annually by the FDOE to districts that meet rigorous criteria, including:
- Outstanding Academic Performance: High scores in school and district grades based on student achievement, learning gains, and other key performance indicators.
- Class Size Compliance: Adherence to Florida’s constitutional requirements for class size, ensuring students benefit from personalized attention and an optimal learning environment.
- Exemplary Financial Management: Financial audit reviews demonstrating the district’s effective stewardship of public funds.
Superintendent Serita D. Beamon expressed her gratitude and pride in the district’s achievements. "This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our students, families, educators, and staff. It is a testament to the high standards we hold ourselves to as we strive to provide the very best for every student in Seminole County."
SCPS remains one of Florida’s top-performing districts, a distinction made possible through innovative programs, a focus on student-centered learning, and partnerships with the community. This designation is particularly meaningful as the district continues to strengthen its focus on connections — between students and teachers, schools and families, and the district and the broader community.
As SCPS celebrates this honor, it reaffirms its mission to cultivate a supportive and inspiring learning environment where every student can reach their highest potential.
