2026-2027 Community Ambassador Profiles

Sharyn Battey is a dedicated parent and community advocate who currently serves as the Advocacy Chair for Seminole County Council PTA and participates in advocacy efforts at the state level. She is passionate about public education, school choice, student mental health, and ensuring students with special needs receive the services, accommodations, and support they need through IEPs and 504 plans. Her advocacy is rooted in a belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed and that informed, engaged families are an important part of building strong schools and communities.

As a 2026–2027 SCPS Community Ambassador, Sharyn looks forward to gaining a deeper, behind-the-scenes understanding of how Seminole County Public Schools operates and learning more about the people, programs, decisions, and resources that contribute to the district’s success. She is especially excited to use what she learns to become a more informed and effective advocate, help families better understand their school system, and continue building meaningful connections between schools, families, and the community.

I am a proud SCPS parent, volunteer, and substitute teacher with a passion for supporting students and strengthening our school community. I have two sons in Seminole County Public Schools and have been actively involved with the Milwee Middle School PTSA for the past three years. During the 2025–2026 school year, I was honored to be named Milwee Middle School’s Dividend of the Year for my volunteer service. In addition to being a homemaker, I work as an SCPS substitute teacher and have taught students from VPK through high school at schools throughout Seminole County, giving me a unique perspective on the diverse needs of our students, teachers, and schools.

I am especially passionate about art education and school safety. I joined the SCPS Community Ambassador Program to gain a deeper understanding of the programs, services, and people working behind the scenes to support our schools. I look forward to learning more about our district and using that knowledge to continue advocating for SCPS students, families, and our community.

Katherine Fabian holds a BA in dance studies from the University of South Florida and an MA in arts management from American University. She has worked with a variety of arts organizations and currently serves as the Managing Director at Orlando Ballet where she has worked for over 17 years. As the wife and daughter of public educators, Katherine has always recognized the importance of advocating for a strong public school system. She has been an passionate PTA leader for eight years having served on the PTA/PTSA boards at Eastbrook Elementary, Milwee Middle, and Lake Howell High. She was selected as the 2024 SCPS District Dividend of the Year and currently serves as the VP of Development for the Seminole County Council PTA. She and her family are also active in other community activities including Scouting America (Pack 631 and Troops 631/4631) and at Tuskawilla United Methodist Church.
 
I am excited to serve as an SCPS Ambassador because it provides an incredible opportunity to connect with other community leaders who share a passion for public education. I'm looking forward to gaining a deeper understanding of how our school district operates so I can become a more informed and effective advocate for students, educators, and schools. Most importantly, I hope to build meaningful relationships and bring what I learn back to the organizations and families I serve, helping strengthen the partnership between our community and Seminole County Public Schools.

My name is Michael Foster, and I am a proud SCPS graduate who has called Seminole County home my entire life. I am the father of two daughters—one entering 3rd grade this year and the other entering 8th grade.

I am entering my second year serving as the PTSA President at Millennium Middle School, where I was honored to be named the Adult Dividend of the Year last year. When I’m not volunteering with PTSA or being a theater dad, I am a self-employed commercial construction business owner.

I am excited and eager to participate in the Ambassador Program. I look forward to gaining a “behind-the-scenes” perspective on how the district operates and developing a deeper understanding of what it takes to keep such a large and complex organization moving forward.

I believe the knowledge and insight I gain through this experience will help me become a more effective leader, advocate, and partner for our schools and the Seminole County community. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn, engage, and better understand the work that goes into supporting our students, families, teachers, and schools.

I serve as the Program Coordinator for Seminole County's Office of Economic Development & Tourism. I work at the intersection of workforce readiness, community partnerships, and local growth. After 6 years six years of service in the United States Air Force, I transitioned to property management and land acquisition.

For me both experiences made clear how government and private sectors must work together to build a thriving society. From an economic development perspective, I see schools as the foundation of tomorrow's workforce and, by extension, the economic well-being of our community. Strong schools produce the talent pipeline that keeps local businesses competitive and draws new investment to the County.        

As someone who lives, works, and plays in Seminole County, and as a mother with a daughter in the SCPS school system, I have a personal stake in that pipeline's strength. That's why I’m excited to be a part of the Ambassador Program. It’s an opportunity to go beneath the surface, better understand what our schools need to succeed, and ensure I do my best to support that.

Michelle Koch is a community and humanitarian leader and Youth Leader for Rotary International, serving Rotary District 6980 in Central Florida. Since 2022, she has dedicated herself to youth development, international exchange, mentorship, and community service, helping create meaningful opportunities for young people and strengthening connections among families, schools, businesses, and community organizations.

Michelle is honored to be selected as an SCPS Community Ambassador and looks forward to building stronger connections between Seminole County Public Schools and the community. She is especially excited to champion SCPS students and educators, celebrate the accomplishments happening throughout our schools, and help connect the community with opportunities to support and invest in the next generation of leaders.

Katy Leach is a longtime PTA leader, public school advocate, substitute teacher, and mom of three students in Seminole County Public Schools. She currently serves as on the board of both Tuskawilla Middle School PTSA and Lake Howell High School PTSA as well as Seminole County PTA where she works alongside families, educators, students, and community partners to strengthen connections and create opportunities for students to thrive.

Katy has been involved with PTA for more than 15 years, beginning when her oldest child entered kindergarten. Her experience has given her the opportunity to see public education from many perspectives: as a parent navigating the school system, a volunteer working closely with school leaders and teachers, and a substitute teacher spending time in classrooms throughout the district.

She is especially passionate about family and community engagement and believes that strong schools are built when families feel informed, welcomed, and connected. Katy is also an advocate for student voice, mental health and wellness, the arts, and creating meaningful opportunities for families to remain engaged throughout middle and high school.

As an SCPS Community Ambassador, Katy is excited to deepen her understanding of the district, learn more about the people and programs serving SCPS students, and help strengthen the connection between our schools and the community they serve.

I have been a part of the Addition Financial Family for 10 years and I’ve got over 18 years of experience in the credit union realm.  Currently, I am the Assistant Manager of the Community Development Department with Addition. 

I oversee a team of 5 relationship managers here in our Central Florida region.  I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing and contributing to the growth and success of the credit union’s Community Development initiatives throughout my time with Addition.  The credit union was founded almost 90 years ago by public school teachers. Our roots in education run deep and include Seminole County Public Schools, as well as our other surrounding public school districts in Orange, Lake, Osceola, and Volusia counties. Above and beyond we are proud to partner with several colleges and universities including UCF, Valencia, Seminole State College, and Bethune Cookman University. I’m so happy to have had opportunities to share the credit union difference with all these partners.

I’m looking forward to being a part of the SCPS Community Ambassador Program.  As a resident of Seminole County and an SCPS parent I can’t wait to peek behind the SCPS curtain and learn all about the programs and classrooms that fuel SCPS and meet the men and women whose dedication to Seminole County Public Schools make this A rated school district one of the best in Florida!

My name is Kelly Repstien, and I am a proud mom of three wonderful children, ages 26, 14, and 11. My younger two are currently in 9th and 6th grade. Before becoming a mom to my younger children, I worked as a 911 Emergency Medical Dispatcher with Orange County Fire Rescue. I have been involved with PTAs in a variety of roles for many years and currently volunteer with both Hagerty High School PTSA and Lawton Chiles Middle School PTSA, as well as serving on School Advisory Councils.

I am passionate about public education and believe strong schools and strong communities go hand in hand. I am honored to be selected as an SCPS Community Ambassador and look forward to connecting with others, learning more about our school district, and helping support and strengthen our schools and the community as a whole.

Currently, the CEO of Ludwig Enterprises, Inc. a publicly traded biotech firm. Previously, a founding member of BlockScience, Inc., a research and analytics firm focused on blockchain-enabled economic systems, and a General Partner at 50X Ventures, investing in AI, SaaS, and digital commerce. Brings deep experience across executive leadership, venture capital, and emerging technologies. Prior, I served as Founder and CEO of Excelorators, Inc. a company providing educational and training programs at Harvard, MIT, Stanford and West Point.  Before, I served as the Chief Strategy Officer for Trademark Tours. Trademark manages private hospitality and customized education services at Harvard University.

As Executive Director of Operations for Breakthrough South Florida, I oversaw a program where motivated at-risk middle-school students from public schools work with talented college students from universities across the country.  As founder and president of StarTowers, Inc., I launched and developed a successful company in the wireless sector.  As Director of Latin American Operations for the CBN/Family Channel Network, I galvanized the interests of business, government, and non-profit organizations in order to effectively execute diverse media strategies in 18 countries. 

Education has been and continues to be the central theme in my life.  Seminole County Public Schools is the crown jewel of our county and sets the bar for excellence across the state and the country.  I would like to play a small role in shining our jewel and raising the bar.

Dr. Hollie Robichaud is a nurse leader, educator, and healthcare entrepreneur who is passionate about helping individuals thrive through education, advocacy, and community engagement. She is the Founder of Higher Dimensions Healthcare and serves as the Nursing Student Success Coordinator at Cambridge College of Healthcare & Technology in Altamonte Springs, where she supports future nurses in achieving academic and professional success. Her work focuses on leadership, education, patient advocacy, and empowering others to reach their full potential. 

As both a healthcare professional and parent, Dr. Robichaud has a deeply personal connection to Seminole County Public Schools. She has six children attending five different schools across the district, all participating in magnet schools or school choice programs. As an SCPS Community Ambassador, she looks forward to learning more about the people, programs, and processes that contribute to the district's success to help strengthen partnerships between schools, families, and the community.

I am Dr. Natasha Samuels, a Senior Specialist at Merck, where I work within the vaccine raw materials space, supporting the quality and reliability of materials critical to vaccine manufacturing. With a background in biomedical engineering and a passion for science, education, and community engagement, I have a strong interest in helping strengthen the connection between families, educators, and our school system.

As an SCPS Community Ambassador, I look forward to gaining a deeper understanding of the programs, people, and processes that contribute to the success of Seminole County Public Schools. I am especially excited to learn more about our district from a behind-the-scenes perspective, share the voice and experiences of families in our community, and contribute meaningful feedback that can help support continued excellence across SCPS.

Krystine Schafer is a dedicated leader in the homeless services sector with more than a decade of experience serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Seminole County. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Central Florida and has built her career on a foundation of client-centered, trauma-informed care, supporting adults, children, and families through a vision of respect, compassion, and dignity for all. 

As a product of Seminole County Public Schools, she thrives to give back to the community that fostered her growth. She currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Rescue Outreach Mission, Seminole County's only emergency homeless shelter. Krystine oversees operations while fostering collaboration across the county. She works closely with local government, nonprofit and for-profit organizations, as well as individuals with lived experience to strengthen the county's response to homelessness. 

Passionate about collaborative leadership, Krystine is committed to advancing innovative, community-wide strategies that promote housing stability.
