Statement from Superintendent, Dr. Walt Griffin to SCPS families:

On June 6, 2018, I was copied on a letter of resignation from Chairman Amy Lockhart.  Since you are a parent of a student in Seminole County Public Schools, I want you to learn this information from the District.  During Chair Lockhart’s tenure, the Board has worked for the children, families and teachers in Seminole County.  Specifically, the Board has worked to reduce and eliminate testing and protect the elementary recess period, to increase career and vocational programs and mentorships, and to forge resourceful relationships with business leaders and elected officials at the local, state and national levels.

Chair Lockhart has supported our schools, students, families, and employees, and the District appreciates her service.  Her resignation is effective on November 20, 2018; I wish her the best of luck in all of her future endeavors and I look forward to continuing to work together during her remaining months on the Board.
