SCPS Names 2023 Teacher of the Year

(SANFORD, Fla.) On Friday, February 4th, Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) named its 2023 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Julie Gabrovic of Wekiva Elementary School! As part of this prestigious award, Mrs. Gabrovic will receive a Teacher of the Year ring from Herff Jones, gifts from Universal Studios, Orlando Solar Bears, Orlando Magic and $1,000 from the Foundation for SCPS and a one-year lease from Subaru North Orlando. In addition, she will go on to represent Seminole County in the state Teacher of the Year competition.

Bio: Mrs. Gabrovic has been teaching and leading at Wekiva Elementary for the past 21 years. She has established herself to be well invested in the school and the community. Mrs. Gabrovic takes ownership of her responsibilities and her level of commitment to enhancing the school culture, enhancing classroom instruction, and connecting with students and their families. She creates and maintains an atmosphere that is conducive for the educational environment by supporting all of those around her each day.
