iReady Summer Math Games
Students in Grades K–5 will have the opportunity to participate in a Math Learning Games Summer Challenge. i-Ready’s fun and interactive Learning Games strengthen understanding of mathematical concepts and foster a positive relationship with challenging elementary mathematics standards. The Learning Games are a way to provide fun, engaging practice in challenging elementary mathematics standards. Students with 80 minutes or more of playtime for the month of June will be entered into a raffle. Prizes will be awarded in August as following: One winner per school in grades K-2, one winner per school in grades 3-4, and one winner per school for grade 5.
Seminole County Public Library
The Seminole County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program starts May 27th! Families can join us for a virtual kickoff party on Zoom at 6:00 PM that day, which will include messy science, interactive drawing, puppets, a scavenger hunt, a craft, and more! This year the Summer Reading Program is “hybrid” – you can register, log the time you spend reading, and earn virtual badges using our ReadSquared website, http://seminolelibrary.readsquared.com. When you visit the library in person though, you can pick out a brand-new free book to keep (just for registering), and you will also receive a special lanyard. You’ll be able to earn buttons for your lanyard throughout the summer by participating in bonus reading challenges. There will be weekly prize raffles, and at the end of the summer a grand prize raffle for a pair of Ozobot mini programmable robots. We hope to see SCPS students at the library this summer!
