District Adoptions

Seminole County Public Schools is a closed district for instructional materials adoption. SCPS follows the FLDOE instructional materials statutes and adoption timeline. When the FLDOE begins the current adoption cycle, vendors are not permitted to communicate with SCPS employees about the prospective adoption materials.

2019/2020 School Year Instructional Materials Review

Seminole County Public Schools is not conducting instructional materials review for the 2019-2020 school-year due changes in the state adoption cycle per Executive Order 19-32.

Objection to Instructional and/or Media Material Form

A parent or resident may file a formal petition on form #479 Objection to Instructional and/or Media Material within 30 calendar days after the Board’s adoption of specific instructional materials.

The petition must be signed by the parent or resident, include the required contact information, and state the objection to the instructional materials based on the criteria set forth in F.S. 1006.31(2) or 1006.40(3)(d).
