Seminole State College Wayne M. Seminole County Farm Bureau | All Students, | $1000 | This Scholarship is dedicated to Cecil A. Tucker, II. Cecil was a Christian, agricultural researcher, rancher, historian, author, businessman and philanthropist of both time and resources. He was a 7th generation Floridian born in Rockledge, FL on May 26, 1931. He grew up in Christmas in rural eastern Orange County. He attended the University of Florida from 1950-1954 receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Husbandry, with minors in Soil Science and Agronomy, and a Master of Science in Animal Husbandry and Nutrition. Cecil had a long, successful career in agriculture having served as a Seminole County Agricultural agent, where he developed educational programs for farmers as well as youth, with his 4-H youth programs producing multiple state champions. Cecil was a leader in the agriculture community, having served as President of Seminole County Farm Bureau for a number of years. Cecil won several awards at the state level throughout his careers, but perhaps his favorite awards, due to a lifetime of service to both, were being made an Honorary Director of the Florida Cattlemen’s Association in 2009 and being inducted into the Florida’s 4-H Hall of Fame in 2017. Cecil’s positive attitude, kind smile, charitable inclination and depth of knowledge will be sorely missed by all fortunate enough to have known him. This scholarship strives to honor his memory by helping to support future agricultural leaders. Applications must be received by March 31, 2021. Applicants must be high school seniors in Seminole County, Florida. Applicant must be member of Florida Farm Bureau, or have a family member who is a member of Florida Farm Bureau. This scholarship strives to award $1,000 to four graduating High School Seniors who are interested in continuing their education to prepare for a career in some way connected to the diverse agricultural industry. |

PEO Chapter BQ, Florida Scholarship | All Students, | varies | PEO Chapter BQ, Florida Scholarships are provided annually for the support of actively involved students to obtain higher education at an accredited, not-for-profit college or university. Scholarship amounts may vary each year based on the number of applicants and chapter resources. A Scholarship Committee comprised of Chapter BQ members reviews the applications and makes recommendations for awarding the scholarship. The award is then approved by the International PEO Foundation. Relatives of members of the Scholarship Committee are not eligible. Requirements for consideration: 1. You must be a female student who is a full-time resident of Orange or Seminole County, Florida. 2. You must have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.000 to 3.500 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application. 3. You should be actively and regularly involved in your school, community, and/or work. 4. You should have clear goals for your future studies. 5. Although financial need may be considered, it is not the primary criterion for selection. |
