Seminole County Public Schools provides school choice options that seek to minimize overcrowded conditions, promote and maintain a diverse student enrollment consistent with Constitutional requirements, accommodate family choice to the maximum extent possible, and support implementation of ePathways (educational pathways) to the maximum extent possible.
Options include:
Program of Emphasis Transfer: allows a limited number of high school students to pursue a specific area of study that might not be available at their zoned school.
Capacity Transfer: allows student transfers between designated over-capacity schools and designated under-capacity schools.
Maximization Transfer: allows student transfers between designated under-capacity schools and designated greater under-capacity schools.
Diversity Transfer: allows student transfers that bring schools closer to the average percentage of students approved for free/reduced meal benefits at the elementary level.
