SCPS Pre-International Baccalaureate (IB) Preparatory Program
Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) Pre-IB Preparatory Program*
All four middle school magnets offer students the opportunity to participate in the SCPS Pre-IB Preparatory Program via the SCPS Pre-IB Program Track. As a preparatory strand for the High School IB Programs @ Seminole High School and Winter Springs High School, high school advanced placement courses, or high school honors classes - the SCPS Pre-IB Preparatory Program offers an extensive course of study in math, science, world language, social studies, and language arts with an emphasis on independent study, in-depth learning, and accelerated curriculum requirements. The program moves at a vigorous pace while integrating creativity, problem-solving, higher-order thinking skills, communication, leadership, planning, goal-setting, and research methods. Students who participate in this program are also required to take a world language and participate in community service projects.
Students zoned to the four middle school magnets (based upon their address) may elect to participate in the SCPS Pre-IB Preparatory Program when completing their middle school course selection forms with guidance counselors in the spring.
Out of zone students interested in participating in the SCPS Pre-IB Preparatory Program need to make sure they complete the correct magnet application by applying for their magnet school of choice + SCPS Pre-IB Program Track.
Students who finish 8th grade in the SCPS Pre-IB Program Track at any of the four middle school magnets and apply during the on time application period for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program @ Seminole High School or Winter Spring High School (eligibility determined by zoned high school) will have a priority for placement.
