5Essentials Survey

The 5Essentials Survey is now closed.

Teachers, parents, and students across the district had an opportunity to participate in the 5Essentials Survey.   The 5Essentials Survey was administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey will gather data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:

  • Effective Leaders

  • Collaborative Teachers

  • Involved Families

  • Supportive Environments

  • Ambitious Instruction

All teachers and 4th through 12th grade students had an opportunity to participate in this survey. 5Essentials Reports will be generated for schools if their teachers and/or students meet the response rate threshold of 50 percent.  In order for schools to receive a Parent Survey Report, at least 20 percent of the parents at our schools must complete this survey.  These reports will be sent to schools and districts the week of April 24th, 2017.

Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and help to guide school improvement.
