Seminole County Public Schools

All four of the magnet middle schools:

• Millennium Middle School Fine Arts and Communication Magnet
• Milwee Middle School Pre-Engineering Magnet
• Sanford Middle School Math, Science, and Technology Magnet
• South Seminole Academy of Leadership, Law, & Advanced Studies

are Candidate Schools* for the Middle Years Programme. Each school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Seminole County Public Schools believes is important for our students.

• The Middle Years Programme* is a whole-school implementation for all students. Students will select advanced coursework opportunities through course selection at each school.
• Students do not need to apply to attend a magnet middle school where they are zoned (based on their address). Opportunities to select advanced coursework and specialized electives will occur through course selection at each school.
• Students who finish 8th grade at any of the four middle school magnets and apply during the on time application period for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Seminole High School or Winter Springs High School (eligibility determined by zoned high school) will have a priority for placement.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).
