Paraprofessional Information

At Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS), paraprofessionals assist teachers with instructional tasks, to include but not limited to one on one tutoring, organizinginstructional and other materials, assist in computer labs, assist with classroom management and parental involvement activities, and translation as needed.Paraprofessionals are required to take and pass the SCPS ParaPro Test.

The SCPS ParaPro Test measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing and math possessed by prospective and practicing paraprofessionals. It also measures their ability to apply those skills and knowledge when assisting in classroom instruction. It was designed to satisfy the requirements of the federally legislated No Child Left Behind Act.
