Paraprofessional Information

Thank you for your interest in becoming a paraprofessional with Seminole County Public Schools. Paraprofessionals play a crucial role in the education system by supporting teachers and students in the classroom.

Paraprofessional Positions:

          Paraprofessional ESOL          Paraprofessional Media instructional

          Paraprofessional ESE            Paraprofessional Instructional

          Paraprofessional PE (Physical Education)

 Qualifications:

  • A person shall provide a High School Diploma or the equivalent and be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Complete at least two years of study at an accredited institution of higher education (I.e., community college, college, or university) = 60 credit hours OR
  • Obtain an Associate’s (or higher) degree OR
  • A passing score for the paraprofessional exam, proof of score required for job offer approval.

Take and pass the SCPS Paraprofessional test that measures the skills and knowledge in reading, writing, and math.

How to apply for the position:

Interested applicants must apply to the paraprofessional position of their choice. Once interviewed, if the candidate does not meet the education requirements of at least 60 credit hours or an associate degree, a paraprofessional test will be needed. Applicants with an active offer from a Seminole County Public School will be contacted directly to schedule a test date.
