Our playgroups are focused on providing opportunities for parent(s)/guardian(s) and children to engage in activities that promote oral language development and build vocabulary.

December 2022 Monthly Playgroup Schedule
We have members of our team that plan and present themed lessons each month. The lessons are presented at each of our playgroups in an energetic and engaging manner, for both parent and child. Throughout our playgroups, the members of our team demonstrate and guide parents to participate with books, nursery rhymes, songs with motions and movements along with a variety of literacy activities. We also give each child a book to keep that goes along with the theme of our lesson. The parent(s)/guardian(s) and child are given time to read through the book during the group. We always conclude our groups with a good-bye song and snacks for the children to enjoy.
We have scheduled playgroups that occur at different locations throughout Seminole County. We have morning groups that meet at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., while also offering evening groups that meet at 6pm. We encourage and welcome any member of the family, who cares for the child, to attend one of our groups! We would love for you to join in on the fun!
Crunch Bunch
We hold what is known as a "Crunch Bunch" once a month. During this time, we focus on a topic and present information to parents. Typically parents/ guardians, eat a lunch that is provided by Great Start, while listening and interacting with the presented information. We make an effort to find topics within our expertise that are also relevant to our families. We also bring in guest speakers who are experts in other areas. At times, we take our Crunch Bunch on the road, to visit different locations around Seminole County that are essential to literacy, such as book stores, and our public libraries.
