(WINTER SPRINGS, FL) Winter Springs High School’s (WSHS) Public Service Academy is pleased to announce the launch of their new WeatherSTEM system on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. at Winter Springs High School located at 130 Tuskawilla Rd., Winter Springs, FL, 32708.

The WeatherSTEM system will provide students with real-time and future-cast radar with a high-resolution weather camera featuring a live stream.  Utilizing the WeatherSTEM’s online features and social media accounts, students will be able to monitor weather safety alerts that include lightning detection and high heat monitoring, as well as tropical weather information relative to the school’s location.  

Students participating in the Public Service Academy, specifically the Emergency Planning and Response program, will learn how to manage and support the WSHS community through the use and knowledge of the WeatherSTEM platform and curriculum.  This information will additionally be utilized by the school’s athletics and facilities departments to ensure the safety of students while on campus and engaging in activities.
