(SANFORD, Fla.) Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) is pleased to announce its 2020 Teacher of the Year Finalists & Grade-Level Winners:

Sarah Hall, Kindergarten Teacher, Longwood Elementary

Ms. Hall is an energetic and inspiring teacher who radiates positivity. With 15 years of experience, Ms. Hall continually goes above and beyond for her students and fellow colleagues. She has made it her mission to build relationships with her students and their families by creating a literacy program entitled “Roaring Readers: How to Train Your Cub.” Through this program, parents are invited to school once a month to have meaningful discussions on how they can support their readers at home.

Morgan Frank, 6th-8th Grade Intensive Math Teacher, Markham Woods Middle

Ms. Frank is a resilient teacher who dedicates her efforts beyond the classroom. In addition to teaching intensive math courses, Ms. Frank is the Math Department Chairman, a volunteer for the New Teacher Mentor program at Markham Woods Middle, and the coordinator of the Read to Lead initiative.  Her passion to help students succeed drives her to impact the entire campus community at Markham Woods Middle.

Katherine Jucker, 9 & 12th Grade English Teacher, Lake Brantley High  

Mrs. Jucker began her teaching career at Lake Brantley High. For more than 25 years, she has continued to serve the school’s community as Co-Chairman for the English Department. She has seen the evolution of teaching within her own classroom from traditional textbooks to a blended learning approach. Nevertheless, Mrs. Jucker has kept her love of literature at the center of her curriculum. By doing so, Mrs. Jucker hopes to foster confidence within her students to achieve success in everything they do.

The 2020 SCPS TOY Celebration is presented by the Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools and CFE Federal Credit Union.  It will take place on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Westin Lake Mary, Orlando North (2974 International Pkwy., Lake Mary, FL 32746). During this event, the overall SCPS TOY will be named and will go on to represent the district at the state competition.
