COLLECTIVE BARGAINING TENTATIVE AGREEMENT REACHED

Joint Statement between the School Board of Seminole County

and the Seminole Education Association, Inc. (SEA), Seminole Educational Clerical Association, Inc. (SECA), the Seminole County School Bus Drivers’ Association (SCSBDA), Inc., and the Non-Instructional Personnel of Seminole County Board of Public Instruction Association, Inc. (NIPSCO)

In the spirit of cooperation, the School Board of Seminole County and the Seminole Education Association, Inc. (SEA), Seminole Educational Clerical Association, Inc. (SECA), the Seminole County School Bus Drivers’ Association (SCSBDA), Inc., and the Non-Instructional Personnel of Seminole County Board of Public Instruction Association, Inc. (NIPSCO) are pleased to announce that all parties have tentatively agreed to a two-year agreement on salaries and compensation.

TEACHER AGREEMENT HIGHLIGHTS

Salary:

  • Increase the beginning teacher salary to $40,000
  • Two (2) Year agreement of 3.37% over the two years
  • Average 2.51 percent increase ($6.1M with benefits to payroll for overall base salary) for 2017-2018
  • $373.78 cost-of-living increase in the base salary for all teachers
  • $1,370.54 base salary increase for all teachers on the Performance Salary Schedule who received a 2016-17 evaluation rating of Highly Effective, which includes the $373.78 cost-of-living increase.
  • $1,121.35 base salary increase for all teachers on the Performance Salary Schedule who received a 2016-17 evaluation rating of Effective, which includes the $373.78 cost-of-living increase.
  • $1,369.34 base salary increase for all teachers on the Grandfather Salary Schedule, which includes the $373.78 cost-of-living increase.
  • $100 Title I supplement for each teacher at a Title I eligible school
  • Average .86 percent increase for 2018-2019
  • In the 2018 - 2019 school year the parties agree to reopen bargaining for Salaries and Compensation if the Florida Legislative increases the Base Student Allocation greater than .86% or unless mutually agreed upon by all parties.

Insurance:

  • No changes to benefits
  • No changes in employee-only premiums on either of the two plans
  • No changes in the family premiums

NIPSCO, SCSBDA, SECA AGREEMENT HIGHLIGHTS

Salary:

  • Two (2) Year agreement of 3.37% over the two years
  • 2.51 percent increase ($1.4M with benefits to payroll for overall base salary) for 2017-2018
  • .86 percent increase for 2018-2019
  • In the 2018 - 2019 school year the parties agree to reopen bargaining for Salaries and Compensation if the Florida Legislative increases the Base Student Allocation greater than .86% or unless mutually agreed upon by all parties.

Insurance:

  • No changes to benefits
  • No changes in employee-only premiums on either of the two plans
  • No changes in the family premiums

Other Items NIPSCO:

  • Increase the uniform allowance to $150
  • Increase the Professional Development supplement to $400

Other Items SECA:

  • Increase the AA/AS degree supplement to $430
  • Increase the BA/BS degree supplement to $630

Other Items SCSBDA:

  • Increase the Professional Development supplement to $400

Ratification vote for all bargaining units will be held Thursday, November 30 at the Sanford Civic Center from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
