FAMU Army ROTC Scholarship

The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) is made up of 26 inter/national sororities and is the largest advocacy and support organization for the women’s-only sorority experience. Beginning with women graduating high school in 2023, NPC plans to award 10 college scholarships of US$2,000 each annually through our new NPC Centennial Scholarships Program.

NPC has a long history of advocating to make the cost of a higher education more affordable to more women. These new NPC Centennial Scholarships are one more step we are taking to improve college affordability. 

The scholarships are named for the NPC Foundation’s Centennial Fund, which is providing funding for the new scholarship program.

The NPC Centennial Scholarships online application form is available now through March 15, 2023. Recipients will be announced in May 2023. 

American Brother Foundation Scholarship Program Given in honor of USMC Sgt. Mecot Camara

The goal of the scholarship program offered by the American Brother Foundation is to offer support to those that have given so much for our country. In 2023, we are giving four(4) $1000 scholarships to our active duty military personnel, veterans, and/or their families, including our Gold Star families, to assist in their educational goals. Through the support of our donors, we can “Give Back” to those that have sacrificed for our great nation.

If you are a high school senior and you have a family member that has served or is currently serving in our military, if you are on active duty or if you are a veteran, please download and complete the form. Each application will be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the American Brother Foundation.

Who is Eligible?

The dependents of a family member that has served or is currently serving in our United States military OR a United States veteran OR an active duty military personnel.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Educational Financial Assistance Program in memory of Anthony Cipparone was created to assist to students from schools located in the geographical boundaries of Seminole or Volusia Counties or attending Bishop Moore or Father Lopez Catholic High Schools.

Criteria for Applicants:

1. Assistance is for motivated students displaying evidence of both financial need and strong moral character.

2. Applicants must be full-time students, entering either an accredited four-year college/community college or technical school, and be enrolled for a minimum of 12 credit hours.

3. Applicants can be of any faith but must reside in Seminole or Volusia Counties or be attending Bishop Moore or Father Lopez High Schools.

4. Applicants must have a minimum of a 2.5 GPA.

5. Applicants MUST complete and verify FAFSA, (i.e., a Pell Grant) and apply for other scholarships or loans.

6. Applications must be post marked or electronically submitted by March 21, 2023. Those applicants chosen as semi-finalists will be notified of their status and must be available one evening for an in-person interview sometime between April 17-28, 2023.

7. The scholarship money will be deposited in a student's account at his/her school of choice.

Recipients should plan to attend the SVDP Scholarship Awards Ceremony at 7 PM on Monday, June 5, 2023, in Sanford, Florida

We are excited to open the application window for the 2023 Foundation for SCPS Senior Scholarships!

Thanks to generous support from throughout the community, The Foundation will award over $163,000 in scholarships this spring, more than doubled from last year!  There will be recipients from all 10 high schools. Our 44 Scholarships range in value, and while most are available to all SCPS High Schools, some are specific to Lake Brantley, Lake Mary, Lyman, and Seminole. Some opportunities focus on areas of study such as Trade Programs, Education, Nursing, the Arts, Engineering, and STEM fields or on students who have participated in athletic programs, arts programs, extracurricular activities, and community service. Other factors are considered, such as students who have overcome challenges, experienced homelessness, demonstrated financial need, or currently live in the Midway community of Sanford. The application deadline is Tuesday, March 21.

• Foundation Impact Jump Start Awards – 10 Two-Year Florida Prepaid Scholarship valued at $6,750; one award per high school including Seminole Virtual School.

Ivy Tea Rose, Inc is focused on the academic achievements and community service acts of young people. As such, we are pleased to invite male or female African American high school seniors, who are in good academic and social standing within Orange and Seminole Counties, to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship will be disbursed during the 2022-2023 academic year. All applicants will be notified via email regarding the status of their application.

In order to be eligible for this award, please note the following requirements. All documents must be submitted to be considered for this scholarship. (Please do not staple the documents):

• Acceptance letter from a Historically Black College or University
• Completion of the attached application
• Completion of a 250-word essay answering the following: “Why are you attending an HBCU and what will you gain from an HBCU college experience?” (include header with identifying information)

You are invited to submit an application for our Henry T. Wetherall Memorial Scholarship. At least two $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to graduating High School students in Central Florida.

You are eligible if:

• You are currently a graduating High School student in either Seminole, Orange, or Osceola counties
• You must attend an accredited college or university in Fall of 2023. Proof of acceptance must be provided, and the check will be made out to the school for the winner’s use
• You are a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

Purpose

To acknowledge outstanding senior students who are seeking to pursue secondary education in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) field at an accredited Technical School, College, or University in the State of Florida. This program is designed to recognize academic achievement & improvement in addition to recognizing those students who have continually strived for excellence in their communities. This scholarship may also consider economic need coupled with other factors to determine an award.\

Eligibility

• Be a high school senior taking courses in modeling & simulation to include game design, animation and visualization.
• Have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or better for the previous 2 semesters & at least a 2.8 or greater GPA overall.
• Demonstrate a sense of community with a combination of extracurricular activities and community interaction. Demonstration of initiative and leadership abilities is a plus. Provide letter(s) from a faculty member(s) or an extra-curricular advisor/coach to support your activities/participation. These letters should include contact information.
• Submit a well-prepared resume showing industry certifications.
• Submit an unofficial transcript (PDF) along with the online application.
• Provide a teacher recommendation letter.

Note: No one factor shall be above all other factors. The final decision shall be based on a combination of factors.

One of the major goals of the Rotary Club of Winter Springs Charitable Foundation, Inc. is to grant to Winter Springs' residents who are High School seniors with "Service Above Self" scholarship that will assist them financially as they pursue their educational or vocational program of study at an accredited College or University.

PEO is an international philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women, educate women through scholarships/grants/loans/stewardship of Cottey College, and help motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations. Chapter BQ of Florida enjoys sharing a passion for providing education, financial assistance for women, developing close friendships, sharing a personal belief in God, and sharing experiences and insights that further develop each member.

PEO Chapter BQ, Florida Scholarships are provided annually for the support of actively involved students to obtain higher education at an accredited, not-for-profit college or university. Scholarship amounts may vary each year based on number of applicants and chapter resources. A Scholarship Committee comprised of Chapter BQ members reviews the applications and makes recommendations for awarding the scholarship. The award is then approved by the International PEO Foundation. Relatives of members of the Scholarship Committee are not eligible.

Requirements for consideration:

1. You must be a female student who is a full-time resident of Orange or Seminole County, Florida.

2. You must have a cumulative, unweighted GPA of 3.000 to 3.500 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application. If your GPA is not in this range, please do not apply.

3. You should be actively and regularly involved in your school, community, and/or work.

4. You should have clear goals for your future studies.

5. Although financial need may be considered, it is not the primary criterion for selection.

Metropolitan Florida Chapter of the National Drifters, Incorporated is affiliated with a National Organization – The Drifters, Incorporated. We are a group of motivated and inspired women from the central, south, and surrounding Florida areas. One of our organization’s primary focuses is education. Metropolitan Florida Chapter of the National Drifters, Incorporated will be awarding two (2) $1,000.00 scholarships to graduating seniors. The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities, and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior from an accredited high school who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a graduating high school senior in the United States
• Must identify as male

The Suburban Republican Women’s Club Federated awards a scholarship of $1,000 to a woman who has shown leadership and academic excellence in school and/or extracurricular activities.

Eligibility: Applicant must be a woman graduating from S.C.P.S. and be accepted into any accredited college, university or vocational technical school. She must have at least a 2.5 GPA and be a registered or pre- registered Republican in Seminole County.

The Oviedo Winter Springs Regional Chamber of Commerce and Oviedo City Church annually award a $2,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior. Thank you to Oviedo City Church for serving as the sponsor for our scholarship.

Eligible students must attend Hagerty, Oviedo, Winter Springs, Lake Howell or The Master’s Academy; or live in the following zip codes: 32762, 32765, 32766, 32708.

Applications must be submitted by April 12th with the recipients being announced at our Education Update Luncheon in August.

Ivy-N-Pearls Foundation, Incorporated in collaboration with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Kappa Sigma Omega Chapter of Sanford, Florida will be awarding two (2) $1,000.00 scholarships to seniors of African Descent and one (1) $1000.00 scholarship to a graduating senior attending an HBCU.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Completed application (must be typed).
• Proof of overall grade point average minimum of 3.0 on 4.0 scale (An official sealed transcript).
• Proof of achievement of extra-curricular activities.
• Letter of recommendation from a faculty member, principal, or counselor.
• Essay (No more than 500 words) on the provided theme.
• Proof of acceptance to a college, university, or technical school.
• Must be a graduating high school senior from a Seminole County Florida high school.
• Must be of African Descent.
• Financial need will be considered.

University Behavioral Center is dedicated to promoting the future champions of mental health within our community.  We are very pleased to announce the 7th annual University Behavioral Center Scholarship for High School Seniors.   

The UBC scholarship is purely based on your story and how you have triumphed/coped with mental illness personally or related to someone close to you.

The American Muslim Alliance of Florida Inc. will be awarding a total of $20,000 in scholarships to twenty-five students in support of Florida High School Senior students in pursuit of a college education. The top 10 students will each receive a scholarship in the amount of $1000. In addition, 20 students will each receive a scholarship in the amount of $500. 

Applicants must meet the following criteria to qualify: The applicant must be graduating from a public, private, or home school within the state of Florida and entering college as a full-time student.

• Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0, and attach official copies of school transcripts.
• Applicants must provide two letters of recommendation from teachers of core subjects. Please limit letters of recommendation to one page for each recommendation.
• Applicants guidance counselor must complete page 2.
• Applicant must compose and type a one-page, single-spaced essay stating why you should be awarded a scholarship, and why you plan to further your studies at a college or university.
• Applicants complete and submit page 4.

Scholarship Program is open for students of all faith and race. The winners will not be announced before the Scholarship Award Ceremony.

Traven Watase started the first PB&J Scholarship back in 2013 when he graduated from Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School. Traven was not a good student when he was in High School and did not have strong family support from his parents. In which he moved from Roosevelt High School (Honolulu, HI) to Kauai High School (Lihue, HI) and finally graduated from Governor Wallace Rider Farrington High School (Honolulu, HI). What he realized is that kids who do not have proper guidance/encountered an unusual challenge, are at a significant disadvantage that not a lot of scholarships recognize. Most scholarships you see are merit-based, financial need, or ethnicity. But students who encountered challenges in their lives may not be able to achieve merit-based benchmarks, might be in the middle ground of financial need, and not qualify for ethnicity-based scholarships. So because of this, Traven decided to eat PB&J Sandwiches to save money on his budget so that he could pay forward a scholarship while he was in his first year of college himself. Traven did not start the scholarship because he had a lot of money, but he was willing to sacrifice a little and give what he could to help out someone going through similar challenges that he went through.

Our philosophy back when we first started was not to create barriers from students applying (GPA, Ethnicity etc…) because we will only judge the student by hearing their story and not disregard them before hearing it. Our scholarship is open to:

1. Current High School Seniors studying in one of the 50 States or Washington DC
2. Plan on attending a 2 or 4 year college next school year

What needs to be submitted

1. Personal Statement
2. 1 letter of recommendation minimum
3. Transcript (GPA will not be considered, and this is only to verify your student status)

Since 1973, Chick-fil-A, Inc. has awarded more than $136 million in scholarships to more than 80,000 Team Members. To be eligible for a scholarship or educational assistance, applicants must be employed by a Chick-fil-A franchise Operator, a Chick-fil-A, Inc.-operated restaurant, or an S. Truett Cathy (STC) brand restaurant. Chick-fil-A restaurant Operators nominate their Team Members to receive scholarships, which can be applied to any area of study at any accredited institution.

There are three ways Chick-fil-A Team Members can receive educational assistance through the Chick-fil-A scholarship initiative:

1. $25,000 Scholarship: This year, 12 Restaurant Team Members received an individual, one-time $25,000 True Inspiration Scholarship, amounting to $300,000. Supported by their local Operator, Team Members who demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, leadership and community involvement are encouraged to apply.

Educational Assistance Opportunities: In addition to scholarships, Chick-fil-A offers its 175,000 Restaurant Team Members access to tuition discounts of up to 30% and other educational benefits at over 100 colleges and universities across the country. The benefits can be combined with either of the above scholarships.
