Seminole County Bully
Prevention Poster Contest
The O
ffice of School Safety and Student Alternative Placement
the Safety and Security office, Safe and Drug Free Schools (SDFS), encompasses the Teenage Parent program, Journeys Academy, the STAY Center, South Seminole Hospital, Boys & Girls Town, John Polk Educational Center, Eugene Gregory Academy (Consequence Unit), and the Juvenile Detention Center.
The mission of the School Safety and Student Alternative Placement office is to provide alternative programs and interventions for those students who are experiencing truancy problems, misconduct problems, social and emotional difficulties, family dysfunction, or other difficulties that affect their abilities to stay in and perform well at school. The main goal is to facilitate and manage operational functions to provide support for students to succeed academically and socially, in addition to acquiring the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to graduate from high school as productive independent citizens.
