My name is Amanda Scott and this is my fourth year teaching at Wicklow Elementary. For my first three years at Wicklow, I taught the fourth grade ESOL inclusion class and this is my first year teaching the 3/4 Multi-age Gifted and Talented class with Mrs. Fuchs. It has been so rewarding to watch the third and fourth grade students interact and learn with each other. Becoming a teacher was a dream of mine since fifth grade and I cannot imagine a job that would make me happier. I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida and recently completed my Gifted Endorsement. My goal as a teacher is to create a positive classroom community that encourages students to strive to be the best that they can be both socially and academically. I hope to inspire my students to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them, to think creatively, and to become life-long learners.
My name is Katie Fuchs and this is my sixth year teaching at Wicklow Elementary. I have previously taught the third grade ESOL inclusion class and this year I am teaching the 3/4 Multi-age Gifted and Talented class. It is very rewarding to work with students and know that I am making a difference in their life. I believe in continuing my own education as well as educating my students. I obtained my Masters Degree in Reading Education and am pursuing my Gifted Endorsement. In 2010 I received the Office Max “Dedicated and Passionate Teacher” award. My goal is to create a positive and caring environment in which students become life-long learners. I want to give children the tools to become avid readers, creative thinkers and to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them. Helping students reach their maximum potential both socially and academically is what drives me to be the best I can be for my students.
